Lee Dixon (born on May 1 1991 in Cabra, Dublin) is an Irish footballer currently playing for Bohemians in the Premier Division of the League of Ireland.
Lee was an underage international with the Republic of Ireland representing his country at underage level [2] while with the noted nursery club Belvedere
After moving to the senior ranks, he joined his boyhood heroes Bohemians where he made his debut for the club in the Setanta Sports Cup against Coleraine on October 6, 2009. Lee replaced Ryan McEvoy in the second half of this 0-0 draw between the teams.[1] During the 2010 season, he was a regular in their under 20s and "A" team that reached the Newstalk Cup final (A Team) and the Dr. Tony O'Neill Cup final (under 20s). Unluckily for Lee and Bohs, they would be defeated in both.[2][3] He would also appear for the first team in the Leinster Senior Cup, FAI Cup and also in high profile friendlies against Aston Villa[4] and Wolves during this campaign. His league debut came as a substitute in a 3-0 win against Dundalk in June of that year. [5]
With the financial uncertainty at Bohemians during the off season, Dixon found himself in the starting line up for the first league game of 2011 against Bray Wanderers [6] and an impressive performance meant he kept his place for the following two league games too. Lee's progress was noted when Noel King called him into the Irish under 21 squad for the qualifying game against Turkey in September of this year.[7]
